The Park’s emerging as a new piece of London, and there’s been a huge amount of investment in the places and people that call it home. East London is a place of invention, where new things are tried and tested. The fact we’re surrounded by waterways is an incredible asset. There’s a real sense of vibrancy and energy here, it’s so mixed and so diverse. In Hackney Wick you really feel that people can be themselves.
You feel like you’re outside the hustle and bustle of central London, but yet you’ve got so much happening right on your doorstep. If you look across the park there is so much going on and so much yet to arrive. I recognise more and more people on campus, and now our tenants are forming their own social hubs which is fantastic. It’s so exciting having a new branch of the V&A arriving here too when such a large cultural institution comes to town it will bring a whole new range of visitors to the area. You’ll love living here if you like innovation, you’re creative and interested in tech someone future thinking. East Wick & Sweetwater is in a very enviable location, I’d love to live somewhere like that!
Back this summer, we spent some time with Tommo and the team talking about making what seemed like a crazy idea come true, one epic journey bringing 114-year-old De Hoop back to Sweetwater, and the strong community spirit so unique to Hackney Wick.
