You feel like you’re outside the hustle and bustle of central London, but yet you’ve got so much happening right on your doorstep. If you look across the park there is so much going on and so much yet to arrive. I recognise more and more people on campus, and now our tenants are forming their own social hubs which is fantastic. It’s so exciting having a new branch of the V&A arriving here too when such a large cultural institution comes to town it will bring a whole new range of visitors to the area. You’ll love living here if you like innovation, you’re creative and interested in tech someone future thinking. East Wick & Sweetwater is in a very enviable location, I’d love to live somewhere like that!
For this 3rd episode we spent some time with Kevin from Taking Shape Association talking about growing up in East London, how Kung Fu influenced his life from an early stage, and how he’s now working to empower the community through Martial Arts.
As part of our commitments to support economic prosperity in East London, we're launching the Future Fund, aiming to promote inclusive growth and celebrate the talent and diversity amongst young people living within the Growth Olympic boroughs of Hackney, Newham, Tower Hamlets and Waltham Forest.
We’re one of six architects working on the project which is really exciting, as we all have our own flare and identity. This means the new neighbourhood will offer different styles, which creates a more interesting place to live and visit. The design is heavily focused on establishing a real sense of community, as we want to bring different types of people together. We’re also designing highly sustainable homes, including car-free liveable streets that create a much better sense of community, whilst also providing walking and cycling routes.
